Is it a re-install of SABnzbd itself or did you need to go through setup again?
(You know, like setup the Usenet servers again.)

Not sure, but will check. Someone else did the reinstall.

I think a reinstall of Sabnzbd would necessitate setting up the Usenet servers again, wouldn't it?

No, data is separate from the program files.

Does everything work now?
If so, I'm not going to spend time guessing at causes.

Well, that was the whole point...I asked if anyone knew what might have caused this and you replied....I gave you the information you asked for and now what?

Has this whole exercise been for nothing?

There simply isn't enough information in this post to determine causes.
There are plenty of possible reasons outside SABnzbd itself.
I have to be economic with my time,
which is why I pick problems that may lead to Improvements in SABnzbd.
Release 0.7.1 has some improvements in INI file handling
and may so avoid your issue in the future.

Then why did you even bother to ask me about reinstallation, etc.? My time is every bit as valuable as yours and I went to the trouble of getting you the information you asked for.

And now I try to sign in under happygal to reply to your post of the 22nd and find I am not able. Did you deactivate it?

This is the second time I have tried to get help using this product and both times I have been treated badly. Why is that? I'm an honest person just trying to find out what happened and I'm not sure why that is such a hardship here. Economical is one thing, but not replying and then getting rid of my username is just plain mean.

Your previous account is not disabled, why should it?
I'm sorry that you feel maltreated, but I'm puzzled at the reason.
We try our best on the forum to help anyone, within reason.
You say a re-install helped.
The only reason such a thing would be useful is when the program files
got damaged. Something which is very unlikely to occur, especially when
you don't run SABnzbd with admin privileges.
The most likely reason is some form of data corruption,
either due to a bug in SABnzbd, a blunt termination of SABnzbd
or issues with either OS or hardware.
Impossible to tell from a distance, especially when it happened once or twice
and is not repeatable.

I am not able to sign in with happygal at all. I save all my passwords in Firefox and I cannot get in here using it, so that is what made me think it was deactivated. The first time I asked for help here was in the chat room and I had a question about something....don't remember what now. The guy who answered me said if I didn't know what I was doing I shouldn't even be using it. I have never forgotten his rudeness and it has colored my view of this product and this site ever since. Then when I was ignored here and after what transpired with you.....I felt even worse. Perhaps I misunderstood you when you asked about the reinstall and having to redo the Usenet information. I thought you wanted it so that you'd know how to proceed next in trying to find out what happened, so that's why when I gave the info and no one replied I felt done badly again. I admit I don't know anything about this product and I am not a technical person in any way but it seems that the thread should be brought to a finality and not leave someone hanging after they've given the info you've asked for.

I think you have answered me to the best of your ability and I appreciate it. If it should happen again, I will post back but a reinstall plus a redo of the Usenet information did solve the issue.

Thank you.

I rarely visit the IRC channel myself, so I'm not familiar with the style of conversation.
Should you have any more information available later, please post it here.
I cannot always process it fast, there's always so much to do in a project like this.
