Need help please!
Hello all,
I have Sabnzbd 0.5.4 installed on a Debian 6 Squeeze server. I use a webgui so that I don't have to sign into the server to download. I have 0.6.15 set up to dl to my home computer and it's also in a webgui. I use a Mac as my home computer and then, as I said above, the Debian 6 Squeeze on the server.
Here's my problem: Two nights ago I was happily downloading lots of stuff, like I usually do, and everything was working great. So I left a queue of files to be downloaded and went to bed. Next morning I get up and check and downloading has stopped dead. No amount of restarts on the server or Sabnzbd have fixed the problem and a reinstall of Sabnzbd did not fix the problem.
At this point, I was still able to download using the webgui to my Mac. However, after restarting the Mac, it too ceased to function. I just get an "unable to connect" error on it now.
Nothing whatsoever changed from Wed. night to Thursday morning. At first, I thought I might have used my bandwidth allotment but then I would not be able to upload on the server or dl from torrents, so that can't be the issue.
I am no technical person so this is the limit of my troubleshooting. Can anyone help me?
Thanks,
happygal

Re: Need help please!
So, when you click on "Test Server" in Config -> Server, what do you get?
Which newsserver do you use, and is it still functioning?

Hi and thanks for the quick reply!sander wrote:So, when you click on "Test Server" in Config -> Server, what do you get?

Should have mentioned that and forgot. Sorry.
Using Supernews.com and when I click on test Server it comes back as connection successful. And I have an unlimited account with them.
Re: Need help please!
Where do you get "unable to connect" then?
Re: Need help please!
On my Sabnzbd webgui that downloads to my home computer.sander wrote:Where do you get "unable to connect" then?
I use this url to connect to it: http://localhost:8080/sabnzbd/. Was working fine till I did a restart of the Mac...then it also went down.
I use this url to connect on the server and dl to it: http://91.121.30.46:8081/sabnzbd/. Nothing is downloading even though the Supernews server tests successful.
Re: Need help please!
If you can't reach http://localhost:8080/sabnzbd/, how can you click on Test Server ... ?
Is http://91.121.30.46:8081/sabnzbd/ the same computer, or another one? Can you post a screendump? To check: no pause button in the upper right corner, no pause button on the download, no schedule that's pausing stuff.

Re: Need help please!
I didn't need to test the server on the gui that was downloading to my home Mac because it was working. So I restart the Mac for an unrelated reason and go back to add a show that aired last night and that's when I get unable to connect. When you said screen dump, it occured to me that I was not seeing that download arrow in my upper right hand corner taskbar.....so clicked on my Sabnzbd icon and it started...pulled up the localhost sabnzbd url and voila....it is working again. So that solves that one.sander wrote:If you can't reach http://localhost:8080/sabnzbd/, how can you click on Test Server ... ?

But the server Sabnzbd is still dead so need to figure out why.
Re: Need help please!
Look on the left: both downloads are paused. Click on the pause button to run it again.
Re: Need help please!
Okay, those were put on there by my person that did the reinstall so I did not pay attention to it well. I just unpaused them and it is working. So the reinstall he did must have worked.
Which still doesn't tell me what the original problem was since all my files that stopped that night were wiped out in the reinstall.
I am thinking we will never know what happened that night. Dang!
Now I am trying to add an nzb file to it and it is just spinning round and round and not taking it. Restarted Sabnzbd....same thing. Will restart server and see if that solves it. Will be back.

Re: Need help please!
Okay, restarting the server has helped. It is now taking the files.. so far it's taken 4 but not taking more than that.
Can you think of any reason it died that night and why a reinstall was necessary to get it working again? This is not the first time we've had to do a reinstall.
