Just installed sabnxbd and joined usenet and surprised myself that I have it working but but I am lost on a bunch of things and hope some kind soul will help

I have managed to download 4 videos 1 failed crc errors which is probably beyond me to fix and the other 3 seem to be complete avi's by the file size but when I attempt to play them with any of the common media players only 5 seconds of distorted color bands show,

what am I doing wrong or am I having bad luck getting bad files if so how can I avoid bad files?

Thanks

The best way is to find a reputable indexer, pay attention to comments of users.
Examples here: http://wiki.sabnzbd.org/nzb-sources
Also, use an up-to-date mediaplayer (like VLC).

any suggestion for a good indexer with comments? i didnt find one or I dont know how to access the comments

I have contined to download videos, now up to 10 none of which showed any errors. and only 1 worked, the rest all show the correct file size, and file extension but when attempting to play using vlc or gom, only 5 second of garbled colored video bands shows and then quits,

either I am hitting near 100% on bad files or I dont know how to make the downloads into a playable format

any help greatly appreciated
