Speed Issues

Currently I am on a 30mb internet connection through Charter but I'm pulling no where near the speeds that I should be getting. I average around 600kbs download through astraweb but if I grab something through torrents I can usually get around 1.5mbs. I'm running Win7 64bit, Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU M 330 @ 2.13GHz, 4GB RAM. Im using 20 connections split between SSL in us and europe and a 200 article cache limit.
Anyone have suggestions on how I can at least increase my speeds to that Im getting through torrents?

Do you use a wireless connection? If so, try a wire first.
Oh, and *lower* the amount of connections to 6 or so.

Been running off wireless so I tried a direct connection to my modem and lowered my number of connections but still no improvement.

There's no 200 article cache limit.
You set it in amount of data. If you set it to 200, you might as well set it to 0.
Use something like 200M.
Isn't your ISP simply traffic-shaping?

Didnt know you had to add a suffix to the end of it. Still didnt produce much changes. And as far as traffic-shaping goes, I ran the ShaperProbe tool and it detected nothing so Im still confused by it all.

What does
http://speedtest.net/ report (with no other downloads running)?

OK: 19 Mbps. So SABnzbd should get about 1.9 MB/s (SAB reports in bytes, not in bits).
How about using the most basic SAB config: plain connections (not SSL), 6 connections, wired connection, no settings like caches etc.
Oh, BTW: what's the speed your newsserver should provide? So: what's the 'plan' you paid for?

Soooooo......
I'm an idiot
I didnt know about the whole bytes and bits thing (i know a decent amount computers but not that one). So my newsserver only provided 5Mb speed which turns out to only be around 650KB/s. Upgraded my plan to unlimited speed and now I'm pulling right around 1.9MB/s-2.3MB/s. Thanks for your help anyways even though it turned out to be a misunderstanding

Not really, just less nerdy that we are

Most info about NZB is in bytes, so we figured measuring in bytes makes sense.
ISPs advertise in bits/second, because it's a higher number (marketing eh).
