ERROR: You need an autoProcessTV.cfg file

Post by seanjohnson20 »

newbie trying to configure sickbeard sabnzbd. Sickbeard snatches, sab starts to download and then I get a sab error, "ERROR: You need an autoProcessTV.cfg file - did you rename and edit the .sample? " I have the sab folder for scripts pointed to the sickbeard folder with the sabtosickbeard.exe script and the .sample is in that folder too. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks...that helps me know where to look. Any idea which config item I need to change in SB?

Read the message: it says you need to rename (and probably edit) the sample file.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I did read the message, which actually asks if I renamed and edited that file (as opposed to telling me "you need to ... do xyz". In a previous successful installation I never had to mess with that file so it didn't make sense and seemed like they were suggesting it had been changed inadvertently.

I'll look on the SB forum then for what changes I need to make to that file...unless you are able to tell me.

Thanks again....I know newbie questions are probably annoying.

Found this helpful answer on SickBeard forum:

SABnzbd+ Config for SickBeard:

1. First you should make sure you have designated a "scripts" folder. This is found on the "folders" tab of the "config" option in SABnzbd. Set it to something like "C:\Program Files\sabnzbd\scripts\" or wherever your installation of SABnzbd is. You may need to create the folder manually.

2. Open that scripts folder. Then open the folder titled "autoProcessTV" that you got with your SickBeard installation. Copy all the contents over into your "Scripts" folder.

3. Rename the "autoProcessTV.cfg.sample" to just "autoProcessTV.cfg"

4. Open that .cfg file in notepad. Change the host, port, username, and password values to the appropriate settings for your Sick Beard server. Then save it and close it.

5. Go back to SABnzbd and click on the "sorting" tab. Disable sorting for TV shows.

6. Go to the "categories" tab. Set the appropriate script as your postprocessing script for your TV shows.

sabToSickbeard.exe - Windows SABnzbd+

Save the settings, and that's it. You should be fully configured now.
