Hello all :D

Please bear with me. Im pretty old and very dumb when it comes to this stuff, so if you would be patient with me I would be so grateful :)

Ok. I have been using sabnzbd for a while now. I set it up and got it working purely by accident and a lot of luck about a year ago, after a friend told me to download astraweb and this site.

Now lately, when I click on it in my favourites, it comes up with cannot open page or something like that and I cannot use it at all.

I have an apple macbook black one.. about 3 years old. I thought maybe I should download the latest version of sabnzbd, so I did and now it wont even open.

Im really stuck and don't know what to do.

Can anyone help me in really super basic child terms? And I MEAN childlike as in a four year old. lol I have read so many posts but I just don't understand it all and especially terminology. I try to look up the terminology and I get even more confused.

Sorry to be such a pain

Thanks to all those who read this post.

:D

Byeeee!

You age doesn't matter, but SABnzbd does target the more knowledgeable users.
Especially because using Usenet is a bit tricky.

But never mind that.
Which version of OSX does your MacBook run? Is it Leopard, Snow Leopard or Lion?
It matters, because we have different versions of SABnzbd for Leopard (and older) and Snow Leopard (and newer).

I am running Leopard 10.5
Ahhh I see. Perhaps I am not using the right version. ... Sorry. My bad.

Also, I realised that on the main house computer which runs windows 7, SABnzbd has not been reinstalled after a HDD reformat to factory settings.
So, I thought that perhaps because the Windows 7 machine is the main puter, that perhaps if SABnzbd is not running on that then I can't utilise it on my macbook. Is that a possibility too? We have wireless internet in this house.

Anyway, I have reinstalled SABnzbd on the Windoze 7 machine (*giggles* I hate pc's), but still no luck on this macbook.

Thanks so much Shypike for trying to help me .. you are a gem!!

It should be possible to use SABnzbd on either computer.
Whether you can use them simultaneously or not depends on how many parallel connections
your Usenet provider allows and how many you set up in either SABnzbd.
In general we do not recommend wireless because Usenet downloading
is a very heavy burden for any wireless network. Wireless networks aren't
very good at maintaining a sustained high bandwidth.
Also, one active SABnzbd is very likely to drive all other traffic to speed zero.
