Why is SABnzbd Version: 0.6.10 ALWAYS using so much RAM?

So even with the program closed It always has my RAM usage up to 40% with 8GB of RAM installed, in task manager it shows it using 90 MB. Now i wouldnt mind this if this was occurring only when downloading but this is constant even with the program closed and idle. Is there something wrong? Why is it using so much RAM?

90M in idle state is fairly typical, mostly caused by not returning memory immediately to the OS.
Immediately returning memory to the OS isn't efficient.
When the OS finds out that the memory isn't actively used, it will be swapped out anyway. If needed that is.
About the 40%: Windows decides how it wants to allocate memory.
Don't take the reports of the Task manager too serious, it's also very inaccurate.

Okay. Thanks for the quick reply. Also, is there anyway to completely close the program? For example, I can open an NZB and it will download without SABnzbd even being open. Or is this just a sweet ass feature?

SABnzbd is a program without a normal user interface.
You can only access it through a web browser (it runs it own little website).
You can stop the program from the web browser (Options link at the top right)
or using the Task Manager (not recommended).
If you have enabled coupling of the .nzb extension to SABnzbd during installation,
double-clicking an NZB file will result in the NZB being sent to SABnzbd, starting the program if it wasn't already running.
