I am using OS X Lion and 0.6.9.
I used to be able to download with speeds of 1-1.5Mb/s
But since a couple of days, when i start up sabnzbd it starts with 700 or so K and drops to 300-400 BYTES within a few seconds and then drops to absolute zero. Even after restarting it won't start d/ling.
Web Server Details
Host - localhost
port - 8080

Server config
Host-news.astraweb.com
Port - 8080

I don't really understand whats going wrong. Used to be able to d/l just fine a few days ago.
Any help would be appreciated

Try other servers. First of all you should use SSL when connecting with a usenet server.
Go to SAB and configure two servers:
- ssl-us.astraweb.com, port 443 or 563 ssl enabled and
- ssl-eu.astraweb.com, port 443 or 563 ssl enabled
bot 10 connections each and test it.

I see some strange behaviour when using AstraWeb.
Intermittent speed and many "too many connections" messages from the server.
Switching halfway to Giganews or Supernews makes the problem go away.
I'll look further into this, but I have my doubts about AstraWeb.

I get that error sometimes too but never from both servers at the same time, sometimes pause/resume helps. Sometimes "force disconnect" but in most cases it's goes away after few mb.

Why? I use all my usenet servers without SSL.

Because it gives me that warm and fuzzy feeling inside that no one can see what I'm downloading ;)
