Version: SABnzbd 0.5.4
OS: Windows Vista
Install-type: Windows Installer
Skin (if applicable): Not sure
Firewall Software: Windows firewall
Are you using IPV6? Don't know
Is the issue reproducible? yes
My Usenet provider is Astraweb.
I recently switched from Cox to Qwest for my ISP and at the same time set up a Belkin wifi router. Now when I use my Firefox bookmark ( http://localhost:8080/sabnzbd/ ), I get this page message:
=======================
Unable to connect
Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at localhost:8080.
=======================
I used to be able to use SABnzbd through my Firefox browser fine. Now, no go.
Checking through the forum posts, I found canyouseeme.org and whatsmyip.org. When I check port 8080 (which I've always used), I get "connection timed out" results.
I'm guessing this all has something to do with the router's security settings, but I'm not very knowledgeable about this stuff at all.
If anyone can help me fix this problem, I'd be really grateful.

Re: New router & ISP = SABnzbd not working
Do you run SABnzbd and the browser on a single system?
If so, your router has no influence.
If not, localhost isn't going to work, but you'll need 0.0.0.0
If you really do run all on one system, lookup "SABnzbd - Safe Mode" in the Start Menu
and use that once. (After you're sure SABnzbd isn't running, use the Task Manager to stop it, if needed).

Re: New router & ISP = SABnzbd not working
I couldn't find SABnzbd in the Start menu so I opened it via the "program files" folder and it opened in my browser.
Then in CONFIG > servers, I went and tested the port that was listed there. It wasn't working so I tried a different port. Then SABnzbd said that that new port was working and the app started downloading.
But then I tried to test the servers once more and got this: 502 Your per-user connection limit reached
It's still downloading, so I guess I'm fine. Don't know what "502 Your per-user connection limit reached" means, though.
Thanks for your help, shypike.

Re: New router & ISP = SABnzbd not working
Usenet servers are very slow at recognizing that existing connections have been closed.
Give it some time and it will resolve itself.
BTW: you should not set the amount of connections above what the server allows.
SABnzbd will scale down, but every 10 minutes or so it will try to scale up again.
