I'm new and just got a xs usenet that wont connect through sab. i either "time out" on port 119 or get "access denied on your node" for port 443w/ssl. i tested a few free news feeds and they connected. disabled the firewall and anything else i could think of. any help would be great. thanks

Some users have been complaining about XSNews since they did the free account promo. As best we can tell, the problem is entirely on their end. It looks like they weren't prepared for the demand that free usenet accounts results in, and are presently completely swamped with incoming connections. Some people on IRC have suggested to just leave it alone for a couple hours and try again later.
