unable to open SABnzbd remotely

Hi All,

I've read through some posts and the fAQ / manuals etc and still having no luck accessing SABnzbd remotely and hoping someone can assist.

Version: 0.6.9
OS: Windows 7
Install-type: Windows Installer
Skin (if applicable): Plush
Firewall Software: Windows Firewall
Are you using IPV6? No
Is the issue reproducible? Yes

I'm attempting to access SABnzbd remotely and i can't seem to make any connection - I've configured the host as 0.0.0.0 testing with various ports 8080, 8081 and 8085 with all the same result.
When i check these ports they all come back as OPEN
I've also tried an external port of 7777 to forward to internal 8080 without any luck.
I can open it from my host PC as well as other PCs within my LAN
I've added SABnzbd to the windows firewall for private and public access. (also testing with it disabled)
when i do a netstat -b i can see SABnzbd connection established on my current port of 8085

However, as soon as i use my external (ISP assigned) IP address with the current port of 8085 i get a "could not connect" error.
If i put in my ISP assigned IP address without the port it goes to my router admin page.

Am i missing something?
Any help would be greatly appeciated! thanks.

Can you access SABnzbd from another pc/device on your LAN using it's LAN address, so 192.168.x.y or 10.x.y.z ?

If you try to access SABnzbd using the public IP address, from where do you do that: from your LAN, or really remotely (so from Internet)?

Have you tried a port scanner like http://canyouseeme.org/ or http://www.whatsmyip.org/ports/

Hi Thanks for the reply.

yes i can access SABnzbd from another PC on my LAN succesfully.

If you try to access SABnzbd using the public IP address, from where do you do that: from your LAN, or really remotely (so from Internet)?
until this question i had only tried from within the LAN using the public IP, i tested the public IP out of the LAN and got nothing (usually i would get my routers page)

Have you tried a port scanner like http://canyouseeme.org/ or http://www.whatsmyip.org/ports/
yes i have, though not these 2 - ran both and got back that the port is open, currently using 8085

Strange: the port is open, but you get nothing? And what is 'nothing': An empty, white page, or a timeout, or an error message?

Is there a firewall in your router?

And just to be sure: in your router, you have setup the port forwarding to the <private-IP>:<SAB-port> of your SAB computer?

if i get my public IP than try that in my browser with the port i get the following error "Google Chrome could not connect to 203.xxx.xxx.xxx:8085"

Is there a firewall in your router?
i have a netcomm NB6PLUS4W, when i check firewall i have both bridge filtering and IP filtering disabled.

Yes i've setup my SAB computer to have a static IP of 192.168.1.10, i can use this with port 8085 on any LAN machine to connect to SAB, in my router i fowarded port 8085 to 192.168.1.10:8085
SABnzbd ALL TCP 8085 192.168.1.10 8085

Do you want me check your port from my system? If so, PM me your public IP-address.
