Hi,
So, I have had an unlimited Astraweb account for a while now, and everything was going swimmingly except for the occasional failed download. I decided that I would buy a block purchase from Newsdemon and use it as a backup server to minimize my failure rate. The problem is, setting the Newsdemon account to "backup" causes everything to be "missing from all servers, discarding." I disabled my Astraweb server in order to test it out, and it seems that Newsdemon only works when the "backup" option is unchecked.
Is there something I am missing that is causing this to happen? I'm pretty sure neither of them need the "optional" box checked (which they aren't), as I don't want my Astraweb account to be ignored totally, I just want it to use Newsdemon as a backup when a block is missing from Astraweb.
If you have any ideas, I would greatly appreciate them. Thanks.

Check your connection in Status and Interface settings window.
Use Test Server in Config > Servers.
We will probably ask you to do a test using only basic settings. - Do you experience problems during repair or unpacking?
Enable +Debug logging in the Status and Interface settings window and share the relevant parts of the log here using [ code ] sections.

Well, now I'm starting to just think that the particular files I was downloading simply didn't exist on the Newsdemon server because switching to another nzb seemed to make everything work. Initially, I specifically picked files that had only partially succeeded with Astraweb, and attempted to download them with Newsdemon and see if I could get them downloaded successfully. I assumed this would be a good way to make sure the backup server situation was working as planned. But now it seems that Newsdemon has completely failed to download any part of the files whatsoever, whereas Astraweb could at least get them partially completed. I really didn't expect this to happen, as it basically makes the purchase of a backup server worthless if it can't fill in the gaps of my primary one. Has anyone else had similar stories with these two servers? Is there a better block alternative than Newsdemon?

Backup servers are primarily meant as backup for very cheap or free servers with low retention times.
I think Astraweb's quality and retention is not below that of newsdemon,
which renders newdemon as a backup of limited use.
