Help please, Downloads keep failing

SABNZBD has worked perfectly for me the last six months, until two weeks ago. Now SABNZBD starts downloading with no problem, but half way through the download suddenly speeds up (time left decreases before my very eyes). Half or sometimes much less of the total is downloaded and then SABNZBD starts trying to repair. I end up with the message: repair failed, not enough repair blocks. Any other NZB's in the queue then fail too in the same way (but sometimes only 1% of the total is downloaded). Sometimes a download does work (turning the computer on and off can help and not creating a queue), but then for no consistent reason. I just can't imagine what is going wrong. I use Snow Leopard (the latest version) and have updated SABNZBD to version 0.6.8 today. I've tried turning the firewall off.
Any help would be enormously appreciated.

Hard to tell from here.
Could be that it's a very young post and it's not completely on the Usenet server yet.
If you're suspecting some data corruption, you could clean the queue.
For this you need to stop SABnzbd first.
Then go to your home folder, tell the Finder to show hidden files.
Then go into Library/Application Support/SABnzbd/admin.
Remove all files there.
Then restart SABnzbd again.
Your queue and history will be lost after that.

Thanks for the reply.
I'm sure it's not the file because so many different ones have failed the last few days. I shall try deleting the history. How do I see hidden files in the finder? Sorry I'm a novice

Should be easy to google.
I don't use the Finder for this, but the Terminal app.

Your solution worked. It works now perfectly as before. No more force quits! Thanks a million.
