I,ve been using Sabnzb for quite a while now with no problems. I updated to 0.6.6 and now I have a problem. Sabnzb won't connect to news.newshosting.com and gives the error "Failed login for server [502 Authentication Failed] " even though the password for the server is definitely correct. Everything is set up exactly as it was. It's extremely frustrating as you might imagine, any advice would be appreciated.

Which operating system are you using?

Windows 7 x 64. Tried running as admin, no difference.

There were some subtle changes to the authentication code due problems with other servers.
Does going back to 0.6.5 solve the problem?
(You can install 0.6.5 over 0.6.6 and vice versa.)

Do you have to use a username and password?
Is the Usenet service part of your ISP package or do you pay for a subscription?

Can you:
- set the logging level to "Debug" on the status page
- Pause SABnzbd
- Resume SABnzbd
- Try to download something.
- Download the log file form the status page.
- Look at the last part of the log file

Unfortunately I deleted the 0.6.5 install package, is it available elsewhere?

Thank you! The problem persists having reinstalled 0.6.5. It seems it might be a server side error or something I'm doing wrong in the setup I see much beating of head against wall in my future! Thanks a lot for your help!

I just opened a trial account with newshosting.com.
Works fine here.
Both standard (119) and ssl (563).

Open the sabnzbd.ini file and check the correctness of user name and password.

It has to be my mistake then, though I can't see where I'm going wrong. Thanks again!

Username and password correct in the .ini

Have you tried to login on their website with the same username/password?
Does using 0.6.5 make any difference?
