This new version of SABNZBD is strange- perfectly good NZB's aren't being downloaded (taht do so perfectly in other apps) - I get errors saying
invalid NZB file - Invalid NZB file xxxxxxxxxxxx.nzb, skipping (reason=no element found, line=3228) - ??

Do you load the nzb's yourself ?
Are they coming from an indexing site ? did you maybe reach your limit on this site ? ( as most of the time you then get an error like this)
What site are they coming from ?

I apologise guys for my terrible attitude - you are right this is a free and great product - the truth is my windows 7 PC is acting up and this is causing all sorts of problems , I am doing a complete SCAN on my PC now and afterwards I'll do a memtest and see what that tells me - I just might install Ubuntu and use that from now on !

Strange, an NZB won't work sabnzbd+ that works ok on Newsbin pro - it is only 150d old (i have about 400d retention) - anyway I am using the same
newsgroup provider on newsbin ... ?

any particular reason ? - and it's not that i have reached my connection limit, as I tried on sabnzbd 1st - didn't work, just wont let me add the file
nothing happens - then tried on NEwsbin and it works.

Just to check it isn't my setup I tried another new NZB on sabnzbd and it works - very weird indeed.

Please send the specific nzb to bugs@sabnzbd.org and mention it's in reference to this thread.

A small percentage of NZB file have XML violations (NZB is a form of XML).
SABnzbd only accepts NZB files that are formally correct.
The reason is that it allows us to use a standard XML parser instead of writing our own.
Some other authors have written their own parser or tweaked existing ones.

The downside of our choice is that you occasionally run into an NZB that is refused by SABnzbd
but accepted by some other programs.

There are a few "popular" NZB errors that we do catch.
So it would help if you sent us the NZB so that we can see if this is a new class of "popular" error.

The NZB that you sent is just incomplete: it just stops at some point.
It might contain all required files, but there's no way of telling.
It's possible to let SABnzbd work around this specific problem, but you'd still
end up with a potentially incomplete post that fails anyway (or could fail).

Where did you get it?
(I have some suspicions).

I have never had a bad nzb before from them.

Perhaps it's corrupted due to me ....



edit - yes it is ! , apologies for time wasting , I re-downloaded it, did an MD5 compare - they didn't match ! - and the new one works on sabNZBd

Users upload NZBs to the site, so there can always be some goofs.
