Guys,

I've got a QNAP-419P+, with a working version of SAB on it. (version 6.5). I've got the exact same version on my PC in my network.
The PC version can connect to the newsserver from XLNED.com on port 119 easily, but the QNAP gives me : connection timed out.
The firewall has port 119 open for traffic for the QNAP, so that can't be the case.

The error is quite annoying, and I can't seem to figure out where it fails.

Does anyone have this same issue and knows the solution?

I'm guessing there is some kind of firewall on the QNAP, which I haven't found yet ....
(it's rather new. Got it about 2 weeks ago and am still figuring out completely how it works).

Is the NAS doing name resolving (DNS) properly?
Try to use the numerical IP address of the Usenet server.
(Look it up on your PC with nslookup).
