Hi gang, total Noob here. I am currently using blocknews and have some old episodes with missing blocks. What would be a good complimentary provider to try to fill these in.

Astraweb and Highwinds cheap blocks.  The Highwinds reseller could be Newsgroupdirect.com

Giganews/Supernews don't sell block accounts.

If you are a totally nubular did you know that PAR2 files are used to repair missing pieces?

Total noob, just started last night!! I thought the automated repair process used the PAR2 files, thought that is what repairing meant. If not how do I use them?

Thanks

You might want to download Quickpar (for Windows) so you can repair files manually, and separate from SABnzbd.

I did that and it still could not be repaired. I signed up for newsbin and the NZB's from there were able to complete the files.

seems like a higher quality NZB was the answer.
