Download speed and number of parallel downloads

I have Sabnzbd and sick beard working together now.  There is a queue of tv shows waiting for download. However only 1 program is being downloaded at a time.  The speed is at 1.9 - 2.1 mbits. How can I get the speed higher and / or get Sabnzbd to download more in parallel?

Thanks

This is normal.
SABnzbd uses all the server connections it has to do download a job as fast as possible
by querying for multiple parts of the job in parallel.
In order to do that you set a number of "connections" for the server you use.
Don't go above the maximum allowed by your Usenet provider.
Also don't go overboard, using more than 16 usually means less performance.

Doing multiple jobs in parallel instead would only result in the first job
taking longer to complete.

Let me guess, you used Grabit before?

Please note: SABnzbd will show the speed in MB/s. So if SAB says "2 MB/s", it means 2 MegaBYTE per second, which means about 20 Mbps.
