Complete DLs but No Files ?

Post by PrfctGdess »

I'm having a strange issue that I'm not quite sure how to troubleshoot.  I'm running Win Server 2008 R2 and I have basically 2 drives; one standalone drive (data) and a RAID5 array (media).  If I set SAB to store completed files in the "completed" folder (which is located on the single data drive), then they download just fine and the files show up as they should.  However, if I override the completed folder with a category (say, TV Shows) that stores on the media drive (the RAID array), the following happens:
  - SABnzbd indicates the file downloaded with no errors
  - looking at the file detail in the history shows that the file IS placed in the correct directory on the media drive
  - navigate to the media drive and I see a folder named for the episode downloaded, but the folder is empty

Any ideas what I have configured incorrectly?  I would just leave everything on my stand-alone drive to download and then move it over to my media storage, but that's a pain and I'd rather not have to do it that way. :)

If my problem isn't clear or I can provide more info, let me know.  TIA!!

Set logging to Debug level (Status page).
Then download a small job and let it finish.
The log file (also in the Status page) should show you the exact
commands that are used to unpack and move files.
As long as SABnzbd doesn't get an error message from the OS,
it assumes that writing went well.
There is one settingg you might turn on.
Config->Switches item "Check result of unpacking".
If you set that on, SABnzbd will do some extra checks.

ok, so it doesn't matter where I tell SAB to store the files, they all show up as "completed" with no errors on SABnzbd but looking at the physical location on the computer shows just empty folders.

There must be something odd with your system.
SABnzbd will write to the location it says in the log and history entry.
Have you tried copying some files to the same path that SABnzbd says it uses?
