Hi all
Hope someone can please help me.  I am new to SABnzbd. I have a mac pc, I have installed SABnzbd and joined a newsgroup USEnet.nl. I have set up SABnzbd with my newsgroup details but am now at a loss as to what to do next.  Does SABnzbd have a search field of some kind I need to use, or do I need to go to a website somewhere and find nzb files.  I went to one site Binsearch.info and tried to get a file. I managed to get a nzb file downloaded to my hardrive (4kb). I tried to upload into SABnzbd using the ADD NZB button - finding the file in my hardrive - uploading. it seemed to work but when checking the  "complete"  folder where the file was saved into, I just found a document file named "setup.exe"(123kb).
Can anyone explain what I am doing wrong pleas,  any help would be much appreciated,
Thanks in anticipation,
Gary

Please familiarize yourself with modern Usetnet downloading.
SABnzbd isn't very suited for absolute beginners.
This is a very useful tutorial:

What were you trying to download in the first place?
It looks like you got a Windows program.

As Shypike said, Usenet and sabnzbd are difficult to understand, and that's probably why it's not as popular as other forms of downloads.
Although Usenet.nl is a perfectly valid option, check this out: http://www.newsgroupreviews.com/coupon-codes.html. The best deals for unlimited downloads are probably Astraweb ($96/y or $11/m) and Usenetserver ($95.4/y or $10/m).
Then, go to Sabznbd > config > servers, and fill in the info (server adress, port, username and password). You also have to choose how many connections to choose (usually 10-20).
You have several ways to feed sabnzbd with .nzb files:
1) download them then "upload" them with the "Add nzb" command
2) Open .nzb files with Sabnzbd
3) The best IMHO, use 3rd party software. Sabconnect for safari, MyNZB on iphone...

The best places to find nzbs IMHO are binsearch.info, mysterbin.com, nzbmatrix.com, nzbs.org, binnews.in.

So there you go with the quick and dirty tutorial. You should be all set. Don't let the difficulties get you down, it's way worth it.

You're not doing anything wrong: it seems everything works. Just go to binsearch and search for some you want, download the .NZB-file, and upload the .NZB-file into SABnzbd (like you already did).
