Question on why shows aren't being moved correctly

SAbnzbd: 0.5.6

Hello,

I have been struggling with this for two days and I am just not understanding what is going on.

I am trying to use Sick Beard and sabnzbd.  My issue is that I can't seem to get the downloaded files to unpack, rename, and place itself in the correct directory.

Currently I can download a show to C:\usenet\temp

after it's downloaded it will process, but it will not create a TV show name folder in C:\Usenet\TV

instead it creates a season folder in C:\usenet\TV instead of creating, or moving the episode to the shows folder/episode folder.

I am really confused on how to set up the processing correctly between the two programs. I have searched both forums but can't seem to find the answer, or a guide to follow that makes any sense.

example of my last file I downloaded:
Its.Always.Sunny.in.Philadelphia.S06E06.Macs.Mom.Burns.Her.House.Down.HDTV.XviD-FQM

Loading config from C:\Scripts\autoProcessTV.cfg
Opening URL: http://localhost:8081/home/postprocess/ ... XviD-FQM.1
Processing folder C:\Usenet\Temp\Its.Always.Sunny.in.Philadelphia.S06E06.Macs.Mom.Burns.Her.House.Down.HDTV.XviD-FQM.1

Processing C:\Usenet\Temp\Its.Always.Sunny.in.Philadelphia.S06E06.Macs.Mom.Burns.Her.House.Down.HDTV.XviD-FQM.1\its.always.sunny.in.philadelphia.s06e06.hdtv.xvid-fqm.avi (Its.Always.Sunny.in.Philadelphia.S06E06.Macs.Mom.Burns.Her.House.Down.HDTV.XviD-FQM.nzb)

Found result in history: (75805, 6, [])

Parsed C:\Usenet\Temp\Its.Always.Sunny.in.Philadelphia.S06E06.Macs.Mom.Burns.Her.House.Down.HDTV.XviD-FQM.1\its.always.sunny.in.philadelphia.s06e06.hdtv.xvid-fqm.avi into Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia - S6E6 - Macs.Mom.Burns.Her.House.Down.HDTV.XviD (FQM.1) [ABD: False]

Checking scene exceptions for a match on Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia

Looking up Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia in the DB

Looking up name Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia on TVDB

Lookup successful, using tvdb id 75805

Loading show object for tvdb_id 75805

Retrieving episode object for 6x6

The old status had a quality in it, using that: SD TV

SB snatched this episode so I'm marking it as priority

Is ep a priority download: True

There is no existing file so there's no worries about replacing it

This download is marked a priority download so I'm going to replace an existing file if I find one

Destination folder for this episode: C:\Usenet\TV\Season 06

Season folder didn't exist, creating it

Moving file from C:\Usenet\Temp\Its.Always.Sunny.in.Philadelphia.S06E06.Macs.Mom.Burns.Her.House.Down.HDTV.XviD-FQM.1\its.always.sunny.in.philadelphia.s06e06.hdtv.xvid-fqm.avi to C:\Usenet\TV\Season 06\its.always.sunny.in.philadelphia.s06e06.hdtv.xvid-fqm.avi

Deleting folder C:\Usenet\Temp\Its.Always.Sunny.in.Philadelphia.S06E06.Macs.Mom.Burns.Her.House.Down.HDTV.XviD-FQM.1

Processing succeeded for C:\Usenet\Temp\Its.Always.Sunny.in.Philadelphia.S06E06.Macs.Mom.Burns.Her.House.Down.HDTV.XviD-FQM.1\its.always.sunny.in.philadelphia.s06e06.hdtv.xvid-fqm.avi

Maybe this is a Sick Beard issue on where/how to set up the destination folder automatically?  I know I've gone in and manually edited it for my test shows to see what it does. I had to do that because I couldn't find where the default setting was and it kept moving files to C:\Users\UserName\Download\ShowName  and I didn't want the completed files there.

Any help at this point is greatly appreciated!  :(

Are you using SABnzbd's own sorting features?
I suspect that you shouldn't been using that
because as far as I know, that's SickBeard's task.

I have all sorting on SABnzbd turned off.    :-\

OK, a screenshot is worth a thousand words. I took screenshots of my set up pages.

Here is my set up.

Win 7
SABnzbd 0.5.6
Sick Beard 484Alpha

What I want this to do.
Initially download USENET files to c:\Usenet\Temp
use SABnzbd to unpack files
use SABtoSickBeard for post processing
I want completed files to be in C:\Usenet\TV\(Show name)\(Season ##)\

Currently I can download to temp and have SABnzbd run SABtoSickBEard.exe but the shows get put in C:\Users\USerName\Downloads\ShowName and I'm not sure why. Are my settings in SB wrong, or in SABnzbd?

Anyway here are the screenshots I took.

I hope this makes it easier to help me out. :)

you should ask this in sickbeard forum not here !! ;-)

To change the storage location, click EDIT show in SB , and change the path to : C:\Usenet\TV\
If you want seasons : enable seasons

TVDownloaddir , no need to fill that in when you use autoprocessing

If you have sabnzbd+ set up correct with standard values, it will download to : INCOMPLETE
And when done it will send stuff to : COMPLETE\category folder
So there was not really any need to download to a temp folder
And also not to make a category called temp.

Your set up of folders is not really good !!
I would make something like :

c:\Usenet\Temp\
c:\Usenet\Complete\
c:\Usenet\TV\

To set all as default ... you need to make changes to the sickbeard.ini

root_dirs = 0|c:\Usenet\TV\
season_folders_default = 1

Make sure SB is not running when you make the changes

Thank you so much for your help!
Is there a specific reason to use Complete/Incomplete directories?

The reason I changed the folders is that I am building an HTPC and the media will live on a separate drive. So i wanted to get this all set up on my current computer so I can figure out how to set these up when I assemble the HTPC.

So my media will be on Drive D (or E or F ) once I build the HTPC.

I would make something like :

c:\Usenet\Temp\
c:\Usenet\Complete\
c:\Usenet\TV\
I don't understand this. I get that the temp folder is where I am downloading the files initially. What's the \Complete folder for? Does it serve a purpose? I thought files went from \Temp to \TV?

I'll definitely set it up the recommended way if I can figure out how and why.. :)

What happens is the following :

When sabnzbd+ downoads the files , it downloads them into incomplete (Or temp if you wnat to call it like that)

When it is done downloading , it unpacks it to : complete\categoryname  (if you use a category)

After it is done unrarring , sickbeard uses the postprocessing script to move it from complete\categoryname  to the TV storage.

So that's why you need 3 folders & not 2

The missing piece of my puzzle!  ;D  I get it now...thanks a million.
