Can't set server to localhost for Bintube Accelerator

Post by siryak »

Ok here is my situation. I am wanting to use Bintube Accelerator with SABnzbd. This software requires you to set the host to localhost. The problem is every time I try to do this SAB gives me an error and won't let me save it. Anybody know a fix for this?

I saw this error printed across the top of my browser: warning LOCALHOST is ambiguous, use numerical IP-address

I was able to trick it into working by editing the config file, but when I restarted my computer it broke again and editing the config file doesn't work anymore.

Ok I found a fix. I set the IP to 127.0.0.1 and that did the trick. So for anybody having the same issue, that is how you fix it.

"Ambiguous" means that there is a good chance that different programs
disagree about the meaning of localhost. It can either be 127.0.0.1 (IPV4) and ::1 (IPV6).

Although I'm a bit confused here.
BinTube accellerator is something that sits between the Usenet server and SABnzbd.
The warning from SABnzbd is about the address it uses for its internal web server.
That's not related to what BinTube does.
Still, the website of BinTube does reccommend that you use 127.0.0.1 as Usenet server address
in SABnzbd Config-Server settings.

Lol yah they added that in because I told them to yesterday. It wasn't there before. That was fast though!
