Every download fails

Hi,
I've been using sabnzbd+ for about a year with no problems whatsoever.

Recently every download has begun to fail. I haven't changed anything on my end, so I'm a bit lost.

I ran memtest86 for 2 passes and everything was fine.

The only thing out of place are these persistent warning:

The logging message "Failure in tempfile.mkstemp" means that SABnzbd
isn't allowed to create temporary files.
Check your folders settings, especially the "cache" folder.
It also looks like articles are not available on your Usenet provider,
but this may be just a side effect of the other error.

I was on the verge of figuring that out myself.

I recreated my folders and that error seems to have subsided, but I'm still getting a lot of CRC errors and download are still failing.

I'm using an fairly old USB external drive. Is it possible the drive is going south?

Yes, it could be the USB drive.
Can you try another drive to check?
