par2 throttling

Hey,

Is there some kind of method to calm par2 down a little when repairing files? I mean I'm fine with it going full blast when I'm not using the PC but it does really limit performance when par2 is using 2.5GB of RAM and 85% CPU while I'm trying to do stuff. I know the CPU priority on par2.exe is set to low so I'm not really affected CPU wise but with par2 using 2.5GB RAM when I've only got 4GB total it is causing some serious disk hammering when paging.

Does sabnzdb have some kind of option to control par2 and/or does par2.exe even have any options to limit its memory usage?

Thanks :)

If you're running Windows you can manipulate some stuff.
See : http://wiki.sabnzbd.org/configure-switc ... multi-core
Other than that: par2 is a very disk, memory and CPU intensive process.
