TV Sorting using RSS name instead of NZB name

Post by rpalmer919 »

Here's my problem: I have automatic sorting turned on so the episodes I download are automatically filed so that MediaBrowser picks them up.  However, for whatever reason, many of the shows I download have oddly-named nzb files.  For instance, I download Two and a Half Men, but the nzb files get names like "The.Pimp.The.Loser.and.the.Fat.Kid" or "Charlie.Sheesh.and.Friends".  So, the sorter ends up creating new folders with these names, so I get an extra folder for each new episode, and none of the meta-data can be retrieved in MB (because it uses the Folder name to look up metadata).

The solution here would be, since my RSS feed that retrieves these episodes is named "Two and a Half Men", would be to use that for categorization rather than the nzb filename.  Unfortunately, I don't see a way to do this in the settings, nor do I see any mention of the RSS feed name in the API.

Can you help?  Maybe add that as a feature in a subsequent release?

This cannot be solved currently.
Release 0.6.0 will have a pre-queue script allowing you to manipulate job names.
This will be able to solve your problem.

The alternative is to use a specialized front-end like SickBeard.
