Hi there,
I download with SABnzbd to my external disk, in my case (on a Mac) /Volumes/Data. When I unmount the disk /Volumes/Data doesn't exist anymore, so SABnzbd creates that folder. The next time I mount the disk it gets mounted as /Volumes/Data 1 therefore downloads fail, because the target folder doesn't exist.
How can I prevent SABnzbd from automatically creating folders? I just want it to do nothing when the folder doesn't exist, because before I unmount the disk I always pause SABnzbd.

Check your connection in Status and Interface settings window.
Use Test Server in Config > Servers.

Enable +Debug logging in the Status and Interface settings window and share the relevant parts of the log here using [ code ] sections.
