I am frequently getting Error [Error 193] %1 is not a valid Win32 application while running par2_repair and have no idea how to fix it. I am running firefox, on windows 2000 within a VSphere 4.1 guest.

We don't support Windows 2000, so I don't really know what to look for.
Did you set any additional par2 parameters in Config->Switches?

I was getting the same message and am running win2k as well. The issue seems to be the new multicore par2.exe. In the win folder I noticed 2 different par2 command line apps. One was labeled classic. The par32.exe generates the same error when executed, but the classic runs fine. It appears that enabling the multicore option run the newer par command and the unchecked runs the classic. Since I have it skipping the par check on known good downloads it all makes sense why the error does not show up consistently.
PS Forgot to add that I did uncheck the multcore option and everything works perfectly. I just wanted everybody to know that there is a solution to the problem.

I'm not surprised that multi-core par2 doesn't work in Win2000.
There's an option to disable multi-core par2 on Config->Switches.
Having said that: we don't support Win2000, we don't test on it and
in our design assume WinXP+ features to be present.

I am getting the same error and I am using Win7. I've unchecked the multicore option in switches and it doesn't fix the issue. The file is not there after the download, yet it was about 1 GB.

You can also disable 64 bit apps in Config->Special.
