SabNZBD Helping Synolgoy Download Station

Post by markb81 »

Hi,

First of all congratz with this wonderful piece of software. I use it on my Synology DS209+II and it always works like a charm.
Especially the monitor folder is cool, where you can just drop an nzb and see your download complete in a few moments.
I do have a question tough.

Nowadays we have the iPad where you can download a tool that's called SynoDS. It interfaces with the Synology Download Station, which is very limited in it's options (it does download, but that's it). Is there a way with SabNZBD to just monitor a folder for downloads, and when it sees one it starts parring and unrarring? So the acutal download isn't done with SABNZB, but it should complete all the work.

Looking forward for a reaction.

Thanks, Mark

No, SABnzbd requires the NZB to do its work.
There are probably alternative solutions.

But why do you want to use the SynoDS tool?
There are some iPhone/iPad front-end apps for SABnzbd available in the App Store.

Hi Shypike,

Thnx for your reply. I didn't know there was a SAB front-end available for iPad/iPhone.
So I downloaded it, and it looks great. However when I use the web function and surf to ftn2day.nl I cannot download a nzb file.
It does download something, however it isn't adding the download to the download list as it should.

Am I doing something wrong?

Grtz, Mark

with binsearch.info it works like a charm, nice work.
Is it possible to fix it that it works with ftn2day as well?

you need to open that forum, reply to a post and then you can download a nzb via nzbindex.nl. that part goes wrong, it doesn't download a nzb for some reason.

The SABnzbd team did not create the app.
So you'll have to ask the app's author.

I'll think about sending him an e-mail. Anyway, I found out it is possible to download with ftn2day.nl
When you completed your reply you can click open te screen to create a nzb.
Instead of clicking the download link, click the down-arrow next to the X.
Then you click NZBindex and you'll be routed to the NZBIndex site where it is possible to create the NZB.
It's a little more work on your Iphone, but it's workable ;-)
