Queue Empty After Reboot

First off here is some information regarding my setup:

Version: SABnzbd 0.5.2
OS: Ubuntu with XBMC 9.11 r26018
Skin: Default
Firewall Software: None
Are you using IPV6? No
Is the issue reproducible? Yes

Now for the problem, whenever I add items to my queue everything works perfectly in terms of downloading and unpacking the files when the downloads are completed. However, if I need to reboot my nettop box the queue is empty after the reboot is complete. Is there anything I can do to make sure my queued items are saved if I need to reboot or shutdown my box? Sometimes I shutdown my box for a while and I'd like to be able to resume my queued items once I boot it back up again. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Also, I am a noob when it comes to Linux so play nice :) Thanks very much in advance for any help you can give me!!

Thanks for such a great piece of software!!  ;D

Just rebooting the NAS can be harmful for the queue.
I have no idea how you reboot your NAS, but power-off/power-on is not a good idea.
When doing a careful reboot, the NAS should terminate SABnzbd gracefully by sending
it the appropriate signal.
It's likely that the reboot is rather blunt.
In that case, shutdown SABnzbd before you reboot the NAS.

Hi shypike,

First, I don't have a NAS, its a Nettop box with XBMC running on it with SABnzbd. Second, I don't just power it off/on, but rather preform a regular reboot from the GUI or via SSH. Also, I have tried shutting down SABnzbd via the GUI (Home Tab-->Shutdown) and then rebooted the Nettop box. However, this still results in the same scenario where I loose my queued items. Anything else I can try?

Are the admin and cache folders stored on the harddisk?
Can you check if there's a number of *.sab files in the cache folder?
Does it forget the history too?

Yes, the admin and cache folders are stored on the HD. I checked the cache folder and the contents were as follows:
bookmarks.sab
bytes9.sab
postproc1.sab
queue9.sab
rss_data.sab
watched_data.sab

As for the history, it is perfect and always remains even after a reboot.

Are you sure SABnzbd isn't somehow always started with the --clean option?

I checked the sabnzbdplus file in /etc/init.d/ and didn't see the clean option specified. Is there any other location I should check to see if this is specified? Thank so much for your help!

No other ideas really, other than upgrading to release 0.5.6
