So please don't make fun of me. How can I go about fixing this? If it's a firewall issue, I'm not sure what I need to change:

Do you know if SABnzbd is running at all?
How do you start it?
How do you start it?
Re: I'm new at this.
I apologize, I figured I had posted this in the wrong forum so I reposted it with more information. I'm on Vista Home Basic x86 and I use Windows Firewall.
Should I open port 8080 on my router or PC firewall? Wouldn't opening that port come with significant threats?

I just start it directly through the start menu shortcut. Is that wrong?shypike wrote: Do you know if SABnzbd is running at all?

Re: I'm new at this.
If you run SABnzbd one one PC and you only need to access the user interface
on that same PC, there will be no need to do anything with firewalls and routers.
The Windows firewall will leave "localhost" traffic alone.
Some other firewalls need to be told that SABnzbd is allowed to use "localhost".
If you want SABnzbd to be accessible from another PC within your house,
you need to tell the firewall about this.
If you want external systems on the internet to access SABnzbd, you
need to setup your router properly. I strongly advise against this,
especially if you're a beginner.
The best thing now is to stop SABnzbnd. Reboot your system if you don't know how.
Then start SABnzbd like this (assuming you're using Windows).
Press Windows-key R
Then type:
"c:\program files\SABnzbd\SABnzbd.exe" -s localhost:8080 -b1
Press Enter
If you're on a 64bit version, use this:
"c:\program files (x86)\SABnzbd\SABnzbd.exe" -s localhost:8080 -b1
The program start and should start the web browser with its UI.
