Hi, since a few days adding nzb's to the queue list works fine, but the downloading just won't start. This was already teh case on the previous version of Sabnzb (even though it worked perfectly until recently), but
remained in the same status after installing the latest updated version. I'm too inexeperienced to undertake steps or understand the cause. I'm running Sabnzb on an iMac. Can anybody help me.
I have more than enough astraweb credits for download, and as said adding to queue list is not the problem...but there's no automatic start of downloading files...pls help!

Are you using IPV6? can;t say, dunno what it means (sorry for the noob status)
Is the issue reproducible? I don't know

It could be that there is one problematic item in the queue.
Can you check your setting "Only get articles for top of the queue" in Config->Switches.
It's better to set this off.
Is there any item in the queue saying "Trying to fetch"?

Well did that,saved the change, but nothing happening so far..there's nothing in the queue list that states anything like"Trying to fetch"..so the ETA remains unknown, nothing happening..Anymore I can do or give info on?

The brute-force method is to clean out the queue completely.
Do you still have the NZB files?
If so, start up once like this:
Open a Terminal window (Applications, Utilities) and type
/Applications/SABnzbd.app/Contents/MacOS/SABnzbd --clean
then press Enter.
This will clean out the queue and allow you to re-enter the NZB files.

Thanx, I will try that and see what happens! I still have the Nzb file so,..Also: I have an older version of Sabnzb on my Macbook (don't use it that much, that's why it's not updated yet.) and guess what, same problem..not initial download of the threads ..ETA stays unknown etc..attached a grab of the warnings..could it be a consequence of the latest software updates on teh Mac itself ?? I'm clueless and as said..too inexperienced to comprehend. I will now try out the brute force solution and let you know. Thanx again.  Uhm sorry , just read i did something stupid (by inexperience and lack of reading..sincere apologies, so I removed the attachment again).

Is the queue empty now?
Did you enter any new NZBs?

Yes , did all of that..nothing..so I'm lost..

ERROR: failed to initialize thread

Do you see this in the "Connections" screen?
If so it looks like the connection with your Usenet provider doesn't work.
You do have one? And you entered the user name and password required for it?

Can you get the log file (you can get it from the Connections screen too)
and email that to bugs at sabnzbd.org ?

Yes, but I have to be more clear to you. I think you're right as far as the conclusion about not connecting with my Usenet provider, since the same problem is
occurring on my Macbook with an older version. The thread error is taken from my Macbook, my iMac doesn;t even give me warnings. Sorry if I have confused you.
I will send you a folder containing the log file, as well as screenshots from  other SABnzb screens, see if you can make any sense out of this.. thanx!

I don't know where you got the server address from, but it's wrong.
For astraweb, you should use this:
eu.news.astraweb.com

Well, actually I don't know either, since I did not change anything. I changed it as suggested and all working again, so thank you for that..now I can start beatin my brains on how the wrong server got in there...but still thnx!

I admit that the error message from SABnzbd wasn't very helpful either.
However, not all operating systems return info that enables better error messages.
