Persistent pixelation - what's wrong with my unraring?

Using sabnzbd 0.5/astraweb, increasingly often, after piecing together a video with winrar (on windows 7/64), there will be certain sections that are pixelated (audio is fine, though, and I can play through just fine - using MPC and XBMC). Running winrar again usually corrects the originally affected part of the video, but a new section may now become pixelated.
Anybody else ever get this problem? I know it sounds stupid but how do you properly/accurately unrar? Is there some kind of speed control to slow down like when burning disks?
Quickpar says the rars were repaired fine but beyond watching the file the whole way through, I really don't know how to ensure winrar worked properly. I've also put the same rar set through Gpar/unrar on my other machine running Lucid, and no errors are reported but pixelation persists.
I've run memory tests, which returned no errors. I really have no idea where in the chain the problem is.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions/direction...
