Hi,
I'm having issues with my mac freezing and basically holding on the beach ball of death... It seems to crash finder and I am unable to relaunch it; only fix is a hard shut down.
I'm kind of lost on where to go i have tried deleting and downloading a new copy of Sabnzbd. It doesnt seem to matter what binary i'm download and its not something that always happens but it does seem to happen more often now.
I'm running it on my macbook pro 2.53gig, 10.6.4 OS and the latest verson of Sabnzdb. I am connected to two news servers (giganews [50 connections] and my internet providers (shaw.ca) [30 connections]).
from what i've noticed Adium could be causing this issue as it seems to do when it is running. Though i am going to try few times with out that application running. has anyone had this problem or any other ideas?
Cheers!

I seem to be having almost the same issue. I've been using SABnzbd+ 0.5.2 for about a year on my iMac without any troubles. About a month ago my mac started freezing about 10 to 15 minutes after opening SABnzbd+. It works fine for the first 10 minutes, then I can feel the mac getting slower and a minute or 2 later it freezes and a hard reset is required. I updated to 0.5.6 and then to 0.6B4 with the same results.
First thing that comes to mind is maybe my queue (about 50 gigs, 60 files), history (lots, a years worth) or cache (450mb from what I can tell with LOTS of files) is too big. Should I delete everything and start fresh or is there a simpler way to do some admin and cleanup so that I can keep my current queue? Could that be the problem or is it an entirely different problem?
If any other info is needed I will provide as best as I know how.
Version: 0.5.2, 0.5.6 and 0.6.0 Beta4
OS: OSX 10.6.6
Install-type: OSx .app
Skin (if applicable): Plush (but test others aswell with same results)
Firewall Software: None
Are you using IPV6? No
Is the issue reproducible? Yes
Thanks in advance.

Hard to tell.
If you are now using 0.6.0B4, then you can safely clean out SABnzbd's "cache" folder,
which was very leaky in 0.5.x.
A 50G queue is nothing special and should not be a problem on a Intel-based Mac.
If you don't mind losing the History, do this:
Stop SABnzbd.
Backup sabnzbd.ini
Remove everything in /Users/user/Library/Application Support/SABnzbd/
Restore the sabnzbd.ini file
Start SABnzbd.
If that doesn't help, chances are that it's something else.
Did you do any recent changes to your system?

It seems to have been the queue and history together causing the problem, maybe because I tend to download small files and the list got huge (even if the gigs where little). But that is just my guess. After removing both everything is working again, or at least has been working for an hour with no sign of the previous problem yet.
Thanks.

I assume you are using the Plush skin?
The Classic skin does have a problem with large queues and history,
due to its lack of paging support.

Yes. Using the Plush skin. But tested different skins and it made no difference.
Everything is working perfectly now. Also 0.6.0 B4 is great!
