Hitting newzbin rate limit

I seem to be hitting a rate limit imposed by newzbin, but I don't understand how its occurring.

This issue appeared after upgrading our internet (6MB/s to 10MB/s)

Environment is Macintosh, OS 10.6
Sabnzb 0.5.2
Firefox 3.5.9

Creating a report using the sabnzb button on newzbin creates a report which sabnzb captures and downloads, subsequent reports created in the same manor generate

Code: Select all

2010-06-15 16:05:54,579::DEBUG::[newzbin:183] Popping msgid 5654559
2010-06-15 16:05:54,579::INFO::[newzbin:231] Fetching NZB for Newzbin report #5654559
2010-06-15 16:05:56,103::INFO::[newzbin:298] Newzbin says we should wait for 59 sec
From then on, reports basically fail to download into sabnzb until I pause sabnzb and wait a couple minutes.

So it seems with the faster Intenet connection, I'm able to outstrip newzbin's report request limits. What I don't understand though, is that I'm able to manually generate reports on the newzbin website, feed them to sabnzb and continue downloading.

Is there a way to restore the reporting function of sabnzb and newzbin without tripping the report rate limits while retaining the full function of each service?

The rate limit you're hitting is of Newzbin's API. API calls (ex: via nzbdstatus or sabconnect for chrome) are limited to only a couple requests per minute. I think it used to be 5, but under the new administration, who knows what that might have been changed to.

When you generate a custom nzb you've already got it, there's no speed limit there, so it gets added to SABnzbd instantly.

Pausing your queue and your downstream speed have nothing to do with it.

Solution: get a better NZB provider like nzbs.org.
