Hi, this is a long shot:
Could it be that SABnzbd on Vista does not autostart with non-standard port 8081?
Reason: a friend has Vista, with port 8080 already in use by some app. So he needs to start SABnzbd on port 8081, which works. Clicking on a Sabnzbd (shortcut) icon on the desktop works too. However, auto-start after Vista boot & logon does not seem to work. And, yes, the 'auto-start' check was on during install.

Check your connection in Status and Interface settings window.
