Avast 5 blocks SABnzbd from connecting

If you have this problem too,

Go to "Expert Settings" in "Mail Shield" and  uncheck "Scan newsgroup messages (NNTP)"

How can I completely uninstall avast antivirus from my computer? My avast expires now. I uninstalled thru control panel. My brother said he still saw avast folder at C disk. Why it's still there? Did I completely remove it?
