I upgraded to 0.5 FINAL a few days ago from 0.4.9. Since then my download speeds have reduced dramatically. Usually i get 800 - 900 Kb/s but with 0.5 i only get 200 - 300 Kb/s.

Ive uninstalled 0.5 and reinstalled 0.4.9, tried downloading the same file and the speed increases instantly. Ive tried changing skins just in case, ive even tried deleting my servers and re adding them to no avail.

Any ideas?

P.s Any way to import my incomplete 0.5 queue into old version?

I have no experience with the OSX version myself,
but I never noticed a speed difference between 0.4.12 and 0.5.0 on Windows and Linux.
6-10MBytes/sec (Atom and Core2Duo resp.) with 10 being my line maximum.
Are you using failrly recent Apple hardware?

im using a 2008 macbook pro.

ive tested with another popular usenet client and my speeds ; downloading same file from same servers, is back to being 800 -900 Kb/s

I've never had this kind of issue. I'm using SABnzbd on various Mac hardware.
Could you please send me your sabnzbd.ini file ? (in ~/Library/Application Support/SABnzbd folder)
First remove any password!

I am having the same trouble on my windows machine real slow compared to older version from 1900KB/s to 270KB/s with the new version something wrong for sure.

I did actually manage to solve my problem thanks to rAf. All i did was increase the amount of connections to my usenet server.
