nzb files not picked up from blackhole folder

I just installed SABnzbd and I think it's great. I seem to overlook something obvious, though.
My Watched Folder is not being emptied by SAB. Files have .nzb extensions, scanning interval is 5 secs, Watched Folder is spelled correctly, but nzb files are not being processed. Manual processing works great.
Browser is Firefox 3.5.7.

I thought it was a mere oversight and so I didn't include details. Will do now:

Running as a deamon on server, OS is ClearOS (=RHEL)
Install type python source
Skin default
Firewall ClearOS
IPV6 no
Reproducable: yes, every time.

Browser Firefox 3.5.7
Locale Dutch.NL

Where is the folder located.
Did you set an absolute path (staring with '/') or a relative one?
If the latter, what do you suppose the actual full path is?

It is an absolute path  on the client computer "C:\Documents and Settings\Roel\Mijn Documenten\Downloads\nzb\"

Very strange. My Windows Explorer crashed, I had to kill it by Ctl-Alt-Del, restarted it and - voilà - the Watched Folder was picked up. The nzb files were not deleted, though, but that's a minor issue. So, every time I want to use SAB I have to kill en restart Windows Explorer first ?? Windows is full of surprises.
So, whether this has anything to do with SABnzbd after all, I just don't know.
Thanks for looking into the problem.
