SABnzbd Forums

Everything was working good.  I reset my cable modem when I moved it.. now I get this.

I have tried changing host in the .ini file to 0.0.0.0

I have also tried pinging localhost and putting that address in browser instead of localhost.

Basically tried every solution that I could find by searching in the forums.

I did just switch ISP's, but I had it working earlier today...

Frustrating as hell because SABNZB is the only newsreader that was friendly enough for someone as stupid as me to figure out in the first place.  I tried hogwash and some others, but they might as well be in Chinese as far as I'm concerned.  Please put on your kid gloves with me, because I really don't know a whole lot about anything other than this program when it is working kicks ass.

                      Firefox 3.5.7 (won't work in safari either)
                      Sabnzbd 0.4.12

OK... so I tried the 0.5.0 Beta and it gave a error message at first, but it gave me the following message:
   
    SABnzbd needs a free tcp/ip port for its internal web server.
    Port 119 on d67-193-216-20.home3.cgocable.net was tried , but it is not available.
    Some other software uses the port or SABnzbd is already running.

    Please restart SABnzbd with a different port number.

    Open a Terminal window and type the line (example):
        /Applications/SABnzbd.app/Contents/MacOS/SABnzbd --server d67-193-216-20.home3.cgocable.net:120

    If you get this error message again, please try a different number.


Program did not start!


So I tried it with the port 8080 and it worked.  I'm not sure why it would have tried to start with 119?  Was this the same problem with the first version?  I'm not going to try installing the older version in order to find out.

My bad... It didn't work, it crashed right away and now it wont even open at all with any command.  Have to try and reinstall.

Do you have a router or do you connect directly to the Internet?
If you have a router, you cannot use an address like d67-193-216-20.home3.cgocable.net.
This would be the address of your router, not the Mac.
You Mac has an address like 192.168.1.xxx, but you can use 0.0.0.0 (special address).
Also do not use port 119, use 8080 or higher.

If you have your Mac directly connected to internet without a firewall, you're asking for trouble.
