you're going to be sick of me!
how about an email every n minutes showing the Q status? where n is user configurable, 0 disabling this function.

Eh? Surely the queue isn't going to change unless something is finished? (which of course you can get an email for).
Why not just make the server accessable online, then visit the page and look at the que?

you're right of course, but it's comforting to see things are working. maybe when I've been using the system more I wouldn't care for such a thing?
