I recently reloaded my desktop and noticed that when I run SAB that when it starts the par process my whole computer lags. I know that before hand it did not.

My Setup: Core 2 Quad, Tiny XP Professional, 4GB RAM, ATI HD4830
SAB Version: 0.4.12

I dont want to use post processing but are there any other options in config? Does it have anything to do with the cache that had been previously stored in my SAB directory? Any help would be appreciated. Im fairly decent at computers so let me know

The content of the cache has little relation with post-processing. You might want to clean out any non *.sab files from the cache.
par2 is disk and CPU intensive program, always has been.
Did you tell your virus scanner not to scan the working folders and the final destination folders?

If you don't want post-processing, adjust the default value in Config->Switches.
You have to do post-processing at some point and will still need par2 and unrar.
