Downloads stopping

Recently started to have a rather random problem;

Have approximately 5GB in my queue, I have two servers setup (newsdemon),  both on SSL, on European on US.

Downloads work, but at a random point just stop.  Warnings say unexpected EOF, or timed out.

Nothing seems to solve the issue aside from a full restart of SAB.

Logs don't really have anything of use although not 100% I am looking in the correct logs.

OS is windows xp.  Am running v 5.0 alpha 5

Connections show us-secure.newsdemon.com:80: 0

But with threads below that!  I would have thought if 0 connections were present it wouldn't have threads.

Unfortunately the logs aren't always reliable.
SABnzbd still suffers from a notorious Python logging problem,
in that it can suddenly stop.

I'm not sure what you mean by threads here.
"But with threads below that",  I don't understand that remark.

You can at least upgrade to Alpha6.

Can you show the exact error/warning messages?

For example
Connections

us-secure.newsdemon.com:80: 0
-Thread #1 ->
aspodfjsaoifjsadopifjjsadojif
->blahdeblah
-blah

europe-ssl.newsdemon.com:80: 0

You get no timeout or other message?

There's one known problem that could explain it.
When you have a main server and one (or more) backup servers
and there's an article missing on all servers,
this will result in endless retries.
The retries do not show up very prominently in the Connections page.

Release 0.5.0 will not have this problem when you designate
backup servers as "optional".

To be fair it happened when I only had one server.  I added another only recently (figured I have access to more than one why not have some redundancy).

I have rebooted the machine (hadn't been done for while) and it rattled through about 10GB of items in my queue (email to my phone for confirmation at least), so hopefully sorted.... if not will install 5.0 alpha6 and maybe reinstall python over the weekend.
