SABnzd no longer working/loading [MacOS 10.13.6.]

Hello everyone,

I just updated to version 4.5.5 and I am very much regretting it because nothing is working now.

I am on an iMac running MacOS 10.13.6. I am using the latest version of Firefox as my default browser.

When I double-click on an NZB file, nothing happens.

When I try to connect to my regular SABnzbd server I get an UNABLE TO CONNECT error, so I cannot access Settings, etc.

Can anyone advise?

UPDATE: I noticed that the new version is not compatible with my OS.

So I deleted the 4.5.5 version and installed the previous version and still no love.

macOS 10.13.6 High Sierra is at its End of Life (EOL) and no longer receives official security updates from Apple, with support ending around late 2020

The prepackaged SABnzbd 4.5.4+ for Windows and Mac is using python 3.14.

Python 3.14 dropped support for macOS 10.13 and 10.14.
Because of that macOS 10.15 is required to run 4.5.5.


IMHO it would be nice if SABnzbd itself would be able to print that info at startup.

Use SAB 4.5.3

Thank you for the information and advice. I know my computer is hobbling along and I need to get a new one. Just a matter of finding the $$ to do so.

I attempted to install SAB 4.5.3 and was told by ClamXAV that it is infected with a Trojan.OSX.agent.

EDIT: Reported this in the Bugs section of the forum.
