[Server name does not resolve]

Post by karlr »

I'm unable to get sabnzbd to resolve the hostname of my news servers. I feel like I'm losing my mind. Using 4.5.3, installed in a linuxserver docker container.

Cannot connect to server news.tweaknews.eu [Server name does not resolve]

I'm using an internal DNS server, nslookup does resolve the address. nslookup from inside of the docker container does resolve the address correctly. I've set the DNS for the host to 8.8.8.8 and have the same results. I set the dns server in the docker-compose file and sabnzbd does not resolve news servers hosts.

I added 'dns_server = 8.8.8.8' to my sabnzbd.ini config file.

It only seems to be related to the news servers. Manually added Feed URLs are resolving and working.

Other docker containers on the host are able to resolve addresses. I have rebooted the host and purged/repulled sabnzbd.

No changes were made to sabnzbd, I've been using the same config for ~10 years.

Found the problem, CrowdSec was blocking traffic. Server name does not resolve wasn't an accurate error message :)

That's the error we get from the operating system, so not much we can further add to that.
