Migration to new server

Post by earthscab »

I am preparing to move Sabnzbd to a new Windows 10 server. Can I get away with copying the config file from the old system
to the new and avoid reconfiguring? I am keeping the same share name on my NAS on the new system.

Why? Support will end in a few months time?

Windows 10, including server versions, reaches end of support (EOS) on October 14, 2025. After this date, Microsoft will no longer provide security updates, non-security updates, free assisted support options, or online technical content updates.

The new server is Windows 11 compliant, the current one is not. Figured it would be easier to migrate from 10 to 10 than 10 to 11.

It will work for most settings: newsservers, rss feeds, etc.
Folders aka directories might work : default dirs will work. But "NAS" only if the same drive & directory name.

Note: copy the files when sabnzbd is not running.
