QNAP. SABnzbd asking for credentials?

Post by Roonie »

Through a series of selling mistakes, I managed to shoot myself in the foot. Repeatedly!
Did some sort of system reset (10sec reset on the QNAP) and lost all the apps.
Ive reinstalled apache82 (as I didnt want to change too many things at once) and found a corresponding copy of SABnzbd.
Now when I fire it up its asking for credentials, of which I have no idea
(My tech support guy has lost all faith in me)
Would appreciate guidance on how to move fwd.

I have seen a few customers get this exact error after a 10 second reset. The catch is: QNAP wipes apps but keeps old config in some cases – causing apps like SABnzbd to reload old config, including user/password. My advice is: SSH into QNAP, find the folder /.qpkg/SABnzbd or similar, then wipe the config. Restart SABnzbd and it will ask for setup from scratch, no longer asking for old password.

Thanks for that. My colleague questioned where I got the copy of SABnzbd and sent me his pkg file. At that point I closed and went to delete the app and got a warning that in doing so, i would also delete all the associated settings. Cool. Then installed a fresh copy, fired it up and was greeted by the setup wizard.!!! Yeehah!! I haven’t tested, but I SUSPECT that the explicit removal of the then installed version (and associated config files) did the trick. Thanks again!
