"API key missing, please enter the API key..." error message

I just started getting this error, this morning:

API key missing, please enter the API key from Config->General into your 3rd party program: 127.0.0.1 [Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_15_7) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/138.0.0.0 Safari/537.36]

my 3rd party program is tapermonkey and i checked, the api key is correct. Everything also works correctly, I can send files via one click from my NZB site to sabnzbd using tapermonkey, despite this error popping up. I set this up months ago and it's been untouched since. Error started today.

I upgraded to v 4.5.2 to see if that resolves it, but no luck.

you can look at debug log for more info, but you already know what the culprit is..so just look at it and double check the apikey. make sure there is no leading/trailing space. if you really still have issues rotate your apikey and update it. theres not usually much to it.. either your passing the correct apikey or not.

Thanks, but if there really was an issue with the api key, how come it would still work? Wouldnt it fail when I try to send it to sabnzbd? Tapermonkey is doing what I set it up to do.

I did double check the apikey, no leading/trailing spaces. it remains untouched from when I first set up tapermonkey several months ago.

then you are prob looking at the wrong thing or there is another tab with stale info. restart pc/browser/clear cache. see when error happens (if its when you do x / every x minutes) whatever to isolate the culprit vs the assumed

Sabnzbd is the only thing open, two seconds after i open it:

I will try clearing cache, and then restarting if that doesnt work.

edit: clearing cache didnt work. neither did restarting my computer.

click wrench, set logging level to debug if its not already. replicate the issue then share the sanitized log+config from wrench>show logging

I found the issue, it wasnt tapermonkey at all. The nzb site i use stopped supporting oneclick downloads with the sab extension in my browser (which is why i started using tapermonkey). so I hid the sab extension since I dont use it. I forgot I even had it still. So I checked it and it was asking me to re-add my username/pw and api key, Once I did that, the errors went away.
