After upgrading my network speed, sabnzbd crashes a few seconds after a download starts

I am running sabnzbd on Unraid where I configured everything using the trash guide. I was initially on a slower connection where downloads were stable at 30-40MB/s. After moving to a gigabit connection, I am now experiencing crashes and downloads hitting 0MB/s after a short period has elapsed. Notably, the 1GB test download completes flawlessly while the 10GB fails everytime. Essentially, downloads climb to 90-100MB/s, sit at that speed, start slowing down to 0MB/s, and slow down my entire network. Note I have adjusted the number of connections and followed the high-speed download guide. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Unraid is a never ending source of problems with SABnzbd. For some reason that platform just doesn't like us while others are just fine.

Things you could try: rule out network equipment by running Sab on your local computer and see what speeds you can maintain.
On the Unraid, enable Debug logging in the Status window and then after it happens again click Show Logging. Then you can see in the logs what it has been up to before it crashed. Also, does it show anything in the Status Window like the Performance being limited by disk speed?

Sorry for the confusion. A variety of things happen. On some occasions, the connection to the application is lost and it restarts. On others, my network slows down (all devices on the network are affected), and an error message displays (Failed to connect: [Errno 101] Network unreachable). More often than not, the connection is lost, my entire network is slowed, and the download speeds approach 0MB/s.

Thank you for the advice. No performance is not limited by disk speed. I do see a Public IPV4 failure when the speed decreases.

That is a problem on your netwerk (probably caused by the high load of SABnzbd). Talk to the provider of your modem and router (your ISP?)

Also: you could limit the number of connections to newsservers.

Brrrr. Real network problems. You're overloading your network / network hardware. Talk to your ISP / network hardware vendor.

How is your download machine connected to your ISP-hardware? What's in between?

EDIT: Oh: Unraid? So also docker? That can have influence too.

Sorry, I forgot to post an update here. Several smart switches and other smart home devices were clogging up the access point, which also acts as the primary router. Due to the overpopulation, the server would crash the router and trigger it to stop all data going to the server. After moving the devices to the appropriate access points in the mesh, all worked well, and now I can sustain 90-100MB/s downloads.
