I have had the same setup for years. Everything is updated. I use sonarr and sabnzbd and plex. I haven't changed any configs. The only change is the new version 3.7.1 and MacOS Ventura. Files download and even move into the shows folder but then I get this error and it won't rename or sort correctly. The mkv file is there and it works if I play from file. However it does not show on plex and it is not renamed. It shows as: c103c45f743640d18437bbbbdc12a25e.mkv.

I don't care what they are named but I do need them in plex. I don't know what is going on.

It happens to them all. I even went back and downloaded the exact files that downloaded correctly 3 days ago. They failed as well. It's so weird. I swear there is a gremlin in my configs somewhere.

but everything is the same. Could it be the new MacOS?

Weird.

In SABnzbd's upper right corner, click on the wrench symbol ("Status and interface options"), then click on first tab Status, and there click on Test download 1GB.

Do you also get the error?

It failed the 1GB test

It keeps saying I am no allowed to post links and wont let me send you the logging even though I have removed the .com in the code.

two next steps:

what if you run a manual unrar on the rar set? Like "unrar x blabla001.rar"?
set you sabnzbd logging to +Debug, run again, and post the logging with unrar here (or on pastebin)

PS:

The error is coming from this SABnzbd code:

        elif "is not RAR archive" in line:

So it's triggered if unrar says "is not RAR archive".

Easily reproducable with a non-rar file:

I woke up to this. These have been my pathways for years. I will run what you suggested once I figure out how. I'm been running this way since 2015 so I haven't had much need to mess with anything in years.

what if you run a manual unrar on the rar set? Like "unrar x blabla001.rar"?

Run it in the directory of the 10GB doeanlod, on the first rar file (...001.rar)

I have not figured it out yet. I have not touched this stuff since 2015.

Go to /Volumes/My Passport/complete/_FAILED_test_download_1000MB.3 ... do you rar files there? If not, browse around /Volumes/My Passport/ in incomplete and complete

If found, proceed: find unrar. Maybe just type "unrar" on the commandline, and it works. If not, it's in a SABnzbd application subdirectory ... maybe somewhere in ~/Library/Application Support/SABnzbd

Can you find that?

Can you please direct me to instructions? I have googled my heart out and can't figure this out.

Get this. Sabnzbd is not in my library/application support files anymore. Also the failed files are gone. So I tried another download to get a failed file back to the complete or incomplete folder. Because they were all there. Nothing appeared there. Then I uninstalled and reinstalled Sab just to see if it would reappear in the library/application folder and it didn't. I am beyond confused. It's in my application folder but no where other than there. I check my network protections again to make sure nothing was blocked due to the ventura 13.1 update. Sometimes after an update my isp sees vulnerabilities where there are none, but that hasn't happened either. Reached out to another friend with the same setup and they are having the same issue. They just moved to a different newsgroup downloader, but I love sab and would rather fix it.
