Post processing/categories not working properly?

Or the way I assumed it would work.  ;D

If I choose Default post-processing: none, and then choose unpack or repair under the categories....it doesn't repair or unpack.

If I choose Default post-processing: repair, and then choose unpack under the categories....it doesn't unpack.

If I choose Default post-processing: delete, and then choose repair under the categories....it unpacks and deletes.

For some reason no matter what I choose under Categories it ignores. does one of the options override the other?

BUT it does read the path under categories and move the files accordingly.

This is setup on win 2003 server and setup as a service. I connect to it via the LAN.

I did a search but did not come up with anything useful. and the Wiki is out of date. (I am using the save button after editing)

Thanks for your time and help....plus a great program. :)

Wanted to add some additional info.

EDIT:
I can not get scripts to run at all when listed under the categories section. as soon as I define it in config, switches, Default user script...it works.

Sorry, but I don't really follow your post. It's late.

What I can tell you for sure though, is that it works as it should, and you should continue trying different things if no-one else responds.

:)

Find the sabnzbd.ini file, make a copy, remove all passwords and email it
to bugs@sabnzbd.org (refer to this thread).
I'll have a look at your exact setup.

You only define one category, "games".
This one will only match when something happens to be downloaded from "alt.binaries.cd.image".
The idea is that you define more categories and list all matching groups per category.
It works better when you use newzbin.

Alternative ways are to set the category manually on the NZB entry screen
or use prefixes like {{games}} in the NZB name.
Or use subfolders in the watched folder.

Please read the Wiki on categories carefully: http://sabnzbd.wikidot.com/configure-categories

I had more categories listed but wanted to make sure something else was preventing things to work the way I wanted or expected. and when you say works "better" with newzbin? I can't get it to work at all...so does it only work with newzbin? (I don't have an account to try anyway)

I think this is the only option, I'll try it and see if it works :( I was hoping that I could drop the nzb in the watched folder and be good to go.

I can get it to work as expected by using the options when adding a file such as using the drop down to choose a category or by placing a folder under the root directory of the watched folder named the same as my category.

But mode and script do not work under "User-defined categories" unless one of the options above are met.

The wiki doesn't state that nor does it state it only works or works better with newzbin.  :(

maybe this information will help someone else. thanks for your time!  :)

When using newzbin, SABnzbd will use the categories as determined by newzbin.
So if you have a category "Music", any NZB that is flagged as "Music" by newzbin, will be handled as category "Music".

If you do not use newzbinb, you need group matching or set a category manually.

Obviously mode and script will only be set when SABnzbd can actually determine a category.
Otherwise it will just use the defaults from Config->Options.
